Description: We are a detached youth work project, primarily working in the Ellesmere and Carwood area.

The aim of the project is to improve life opportunities for young people, aged 10-18, in the Ellesmere area of Burngreave. The ethos of the Ellesmere Youth Project (EYP) is to reach out to local young people by providing activites and groups in which to foster relationships, build a sense of community and encourage the values of acceptance, respect, co-operation, equality and love. Our focus is on building long-term relationships with young people and also on encouraging young people's participation in the planning and evaluation of our work. Activities include street-based youth work, holiday acitvities, informal education programmes and dance & performance work.

Description: The inclusion project works with hard to reach young people such as BME groups, refugees and asylum seekers, LGBT youth and other groups across the city. The project works to ensure young people are represented and involved in decision making processes, and that these processes are designed to help this happen. One successful method has been to train young people as peer researchers, who then access the views and opinions of other young people.

Description: SEMEA is a not for profit organisation set up to support collaboration and capacity building between performing & media artists from Southern countries and communities in Yorkshire. As a Burngreave based organisation since 2000 we sek to draw on local talent through team building, digital arts and media training, international marketing and networking, theatre in education and theatre for development. We work in over 180 schoold throughout South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire. We intiated and pomote SOSA-XA! Sounds of Southern Africa which started in 2001, we recently relaunched Kutamba! School of Performing Arts. We have worked with Sunduza Dance Theatre internatinally for over ten years. 2008/09 events include the Burngreave Cultural industries Challenge which will incoroporate the Burngreave Electric Challenge and the Zambuko/Izibuko Cultural Corssings and the Festival of Southern Voices.
