Adult Learning Working Group

The Burngreave Adult Learning Working Group (ALWG) is an open group, for anyone who lives and/or works in the area and is interested in adult learning and skills.

The ALWG meets around every six weeks, at the BCAF offices. It provides a lively forum for the exhange of information and ideas.

Over the last year, the ALWG has been responsible for:

  • The production of a Guide to Adult Learning opportunities in the area.

  • Making decisions on how to spend the Burngreave allocation of the Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities grant.

  • Producing an up-to-date list of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes + english conversation classes

  • Consolidating the local Childcare Training Pathway

  • Drafting the Burngreave Adult Learning, Skills & Employment Plan

You are very welcome to join us at our meetings, particularly if you are a learner. Contact us if you are interested.
